This fall I embarked on a two month road trip across country visiting friends and extravagant destinations, it was the experience of a lifetime! These all capture moments of the adventure with words from my travelogue.

This summer I interned with one of the coolest companies in the world - Converse! I had just acquired my first pair of Chucks not long before I started the job and my collection soon expanded... getting free kicks was not the only intern benefit, I learned so much and grew in my design skills by being surrounded by so many talented and amazing people. I was on the Brand Design team working with PR and Events on a variety of different assignments from creating publications, event materials, applied graphics, to web and environmental designs.
I flew from Michigan to Massachusetts and lived in Boston for two months which gave me the opportunity to travel and see more of the world!
Though I can't stay away too long because Detroit is too deep within my heart (and Jessy's too).

Modular constructed font based off playing around with perler beads. I'm in process of making them all by hand and then designing a large format specimen poster. I will also be setting it in FontLab soon...

for Filter Detroit
Voices in the Spaces is a publication created in collaboration with Filter Detroit which highlights Bauhaus University of Weimar PHD student voices in the spaces they observed in Detroit. Each point of view referenced the physical spaces in Detroit in different ways being seen as a vacancy or opportunity. Seeing the city through many different windows is the main theme for this concept. I wanted this to be an experience piece which takes the reader through the same journey as the student - initially encountering Detroit as a blank city, but through interaction with the community, true beauty is revealed.
Featured in “Next City Detroit” exhibition in Hamburg, Germany. November 26-28, 2010.

Interestingly, our team for the Viewbook project reached out to my Type Design class to create a set of numbers to be integrated into the alumni book we are designing. So while also working on the project, I was also designing in class for it. Work really follows me around!
